The veela-inc yahoo group is doing an amusing "break up" challenge -- really a reconciliation challenge as the object is to reconcile your favorite broken-up characters in 100 words or fewer.

She wasn't there when he opened the door, but on the threshold sat a gift that could only have come from her. He kept his face stern as he looked first left, then right.

"And you think this makes it better, do you?" he grumbled loudly, hoping she had hidden out of sight but not out of hearing. "Out all night with not so much as a by-your-leave, and you think I'll just take you back?"

Silence.

"All right, then, my sweet" he sighed, scooping up the mouse heart. Her soft tail brushed his leg lovingly as she scampered in.

(yes, Filch/Mrs. Norris, if you didn't figure it out.)

Read 'em all here.
My favorite.

My favorite is cageyKlio's Fred/George one.

I should probably be terribly ashamed of myself, but that last line was just too perfect.

Heee. If I squint really hard, I can make out a Dumbledore/McGonagall.

But Filch/Mrs. Norris .. sigh ... theirloveissopure!

Dumbledore/McGonagall

You aren't the first person to say this! Which is why I had to make it absolutely clear.

I mean, everybody knows that cat!McGonagall's One Troo Luv is Arabella Figg.

Filch is actually one of my favorite characters, placing quite firmly in my top three. He was so hurt and mad when he thought Mrs. Norris was dead, it made me tear up a little. This little story was quite sweet, and realistically portrayed relationships with cats (darned, loveable little creatures...).

I love it. The tail brushing his leg is (oh God, pun inbound, nooooooooo...) puuuuurrrrrfect.

charming.
i also liked the Flint/Wood one -- it managed an awful lot of story in so little space, and didn't feel clumsy at all.
hmm. i am inspired to go looking for some of this pairing now.
